We’re Heather and Bede, the husband-and-wife team behind Apex Homes & Granny Flats. With backgrounds across interior design, drafting, estimating and construction management, we bring a well-rounded, hands-on approach to every project we take on.

Before starting Apex, we spent years working within the building industry, gaining experience in both the design and delivery side of residential construction. Over time, we saw an opportunity to create something better; where design decisions are practical, communication is clear and quality is never compromised. So we took the leap, started our own company and haven’t looked back.

We work closely with a trusted network of local trades and suppliers who share our standards and values. These long-standing relationships allow us to deliver consistent workmanship, reliable timelines and homes we’re genuinely proud to put our name to.

As a family with two primary school-aged children, we understand the importance of flexibility, trust and creating spaces that truly support the way people live. Building from our home base in the Illawarra, we’re proud to work locally and to be involved at every stage of the process. Running a family business from home means we’re deeply invested in the work we do and the community we build in. Every project is personal, and every home is treated with the same care and attention we’d expect for our own.
